Springtime in Texas really is my favorite time of year...I feel almost giddy at the thought of planting flowers, getting my hands dirty in freshly turned soil and watching things turn from dull, boring brown into beautiful shades of green. Brian & I left the confines of the city today and drove out into the countryside...we found proof that spring is just around the corner. This stand of Bradford Pear trees was bursting with gorgeous white flowers in Corsicana. We also saw tulips & daffodils blooming and felt a tad 'warm' outside in the 80 degree day!
"Springtime in Texas" is actually a song...by one of our favorite local bands Eleven Hundred Springs. Check out their unique 'texas country' sound....I'm lovin that steel guitar & rockin beat!
Let me further explain my photo of the day for Mar. 6th... some of our patient population has acquired a nasty little 'bug' called RSV. In case you have never heard of RSV it is a respiratory virus that is very contagious. When adults get RSV we have run of the mill cold symptoms...but for infants it can be deadly. So... in response to 11 RSV positive infants the entire unit is in "droplet isolation." The staff must wear masks 100% of the time and don gown & gloves whenever coming into contact with patients. This is in the best interest of our patients, however it is a huge drag to wear a mask for 12 hours...I'm positive the OR is no place for me!
