While road tripping around Maine last week {Tuesday} we were rock'in out to Brian's Papa Roach CD {do not be alarmed by the way this band looks [freaky] or some of the less than savory [vulgar] song lyrics..they are actually quite good with some catchy tunes [open mind] give them a listen!} and the song "To Be Loved" came on & it sparked an entire conversation. Isn't it true that everyone really does just want to be loved? We all go about the goal in different ways...some more successfully than others. Men, women, babies, puppies, the rich, middle class, homeless...love is basic to all of us, we all want it. Anyway...I digress...
We left Tuesday morning from Auburn, MA and headed for US Highway 1 and the coast. The views were scenic and the real estate amazing. We really enjoyed watching the colors become more and more intense as we drove north. Unfortunately many of the shops and restaurants were closing for the season...I imagine the place to be quite hopping in the summertime. We stopped off at Hampton Beach, NH for a walk on the beach...
My favorite lighthouse of the entire trip...Cape Neddick (Nubble) Light at York Beach, Maine. You can see why...it is so beautiful & quite photogenic!
After Neddick we rushed to the next light...Portland Head Light. We arrived there right at dusk, so the photo's could have been better...but you get the idea.
Our final stop for the day was in Freeport, Maine, home of LL Bean. We got checked into our hotel, had a bite to eat & then headed over to the huge LL Bean outlet that just happens to be open 24 hours, how freaking cool is that?
