a KC weekend...

I flew to Kansas City to spend the weekend with this guy... Brian is in KC doing some management training, affectionately dubbed "charm school."
I tell you what, if he gets anymore charming...whew, gets me all a~twitter!
While in KC, we visited the Steamboat Arabia Museum which was absolutely fascinating! These guys dug up an old steamboat out of a Missouri cornfield that was fully loaded with merchandise when it sank some 132 years ago! The pictures below are just a very very small sampling of the treasures they unearthed!

One can not visit KC without enjoying some fine Kansas City style BBQ, right? We ate at Jack Stack's and I swear to you, it was THE BEST BBQ. Seriously. {sorry for the over flashed picture-this is what was left of the wings-nadda!} Another KC treat is the Country Club Plaza...oh my. A shoppers dream come true! My new favorite store....The Paper Source. Lucky for me, they just opened one in Dallas!

In an effort to do something creative everyday... the itsy bitsy spider helped me whip up some Halloween treat boxes for the kiddos! Pillow boxes courtesy of the Paper Source, so cute. And in other news...I have been contemplating the fine art of soldering. Anyone who knows me, knows that I love jewelery & I love to be crafty :: the perfect mix, right? Well, I have been reluctant to get started siting start up costs and not really knowing if I could actually make a nice finished product. Imagine my surprise/excitement/just plain giddiness when I discovered {at the paper source, love that place} that you can achieve the same look with this stuff..... This butterfly is in progress, the glossy stuff is supposed to dry hard and clear.
Put it on a necklace or ribbon & voila! I'll let you know how it turns out!
Go on now...get crafty!

Man, I was just going to blog asking if anyone actually liked KC. ;) It always sucks driving through that town. You would think after 30 times we would be used to it.

I am glad you had a good time.
