This is my lovely niece, Emma. I lifted this picture from my sister's blog. Why? Because Miss Emma is notorious for refusing to smile when the camera comes out and this is probably my favorite picture of her ever. I am going to enlarge it & make copies. That is how much I love it! {and I love her!}
A-hem. I digress...
I re-vamped our mantle this week. I have used the same core items, in different combinations, for six years. SIX YEARS! It was time. I purchased three new picture frames from this awesome shop in Hico called Homestead. The frames are architectural & rugged & sort of weathered looking - perfect for vintage photos. I used this one of Brian's grandparents. Cant you see where my husband gets his stunning good looks?? Grandpa was a hottie! Sort of James Dean-ish.
A-HEM. Sorry...
I cropped out the spooky ghost like child in the corner.
I used this photo of my grandparents. I love this one so much...they look so young and happy and vibrant and in love.
Along with the frames, I used some old Kodak cameras that I have collected and a silver 'G'. Considering my only training in design comes from the monthly Pottery Barn catalog...I think it looks pretty darn good. When I googled mantle decorations { I know, I am a nerd, hush.} they suggested that your decor should be things you love. So - I love old photos, my Grandparents & cameras. Oh yes, and the letter "G" .....perfect!
Tonight began a new bible study that I am super excited about...Esther by Beth Moore. I have heard so many excellent things about this study and I can not wait to get started on my homework and into God's word. Tonight I am considering Gods providence in our lives....thoughts on this? Anyone.....?

hey, I just completed the Esther study and think it was the BEST Bible studies I have ever done. You will really enjoy it. (plus Beth doesn't seem to be quite so 'over the top' in this one)
by the way, got the note cards a couple of days ago. SO cute!! thanks so much! I was so excited when i opened the door and saw it. Sam was just as excited and said "happy dirday mommy" (I guess in his eyes we should only receive presents if it is our birthday ha)
It would help if you posted a Before and After pic...then we would get the right ideas....Neat pics!
Love it ~ I am looking forward to framing some prints, too.
Hico, TX. Been there, done that... many times. We always took 281 up from SA.
