Here at our house, we have a problem. It seems that everywhere you turn there are papers & shoes.
Exhibit A....
There are some days when I barely have shoes in my closet because they are all parked in front of the back door! Brian has joined in the party & removes his shoes while sitting on the fireplace hearth.
Exhibit B....
I spent the afternoon today clearing stacks of papers. It is almost as if they multiply while we sleep! There are the expired coupons in the kitchen 'junk' drawer. Business cards tucked away so as not to be lost. Credit card applications waiting to meet their fate in the paper shredder. Those annoying value-pak coupons that you save, thinking you'll use them to save a buck, but never do. Memo's from work. Novels waiting to be read. Grocery lists written on anything & everything. Receipts...for gas, groceries, dinner out, Target, Walmart. Bills; demanding to be paid or else.... Nurse propaganda...Nurses Lounge, Nurses Station, work here, travel there, have a credit card. Fliers on the front door for anything you could imagine...church's, handy man's, lawn care, fitness centers, and sometimes more coupons. Scrapbook paper...sorted by color & theme. Magazines...Readers Digest, Pottery Barn, Longaberger. So...fed up...I took it upon myself to sort, shuffle, recycle & promise to never let it happen again! LOL, we will see!
At risk of sounding like a tree hugging, sandal wearing, granola eating, bunny lovin' freak...did I mention that I love to recycle? Most weeks we have one small kitchen bag of garbage and the recycling bin is chuck full! We recycle right down to the toilet paper rolls! :) This fall Brian & I made a trip to the city landfill...OMG....I refused to get out of the truck...there were huge vultures snacking on who knows what and the smell alone could kill someone. If you do not recycle...please, let me encourage you to do so. If you need more encouragement, on your next visit to Fort Worth Brian could take you to the landfill & maybe that would help to change your mind! {sorry, i wont be joining you, been there done that. thank you.} We must do our part, however small, to be good stewards of this earth. I am humbly stepping down off the soap box...
Sometimes you must make up the 'rules' as you go along. I had planned to personally take a photograph per day, however after only a couple of days I have realized the scope of this project. So, I added an addendum to the rule. I will continue to post a picture a day, but not necessarily ones that I took, and I will give credit to the photographer. The blizzard pictures from back home were too good to pass up...thanks Mom & Carri! So, if you have a photo that you would like to submit to my "photo a day" challenge please email them to me!
