another day in the country....

We stopped off at the Windmill Farm outside of Tolar, Tx.
The sky was perfect for a few photos!
and then we headed to Hico....I love Hico.

...in Hico, we found this gorgeous cabinet/bookcase, solid wood...perfect for all of Brian's railroadiana. I really love the look, reminds of an old time general store.

Word of Warning...when you chose furniture in a warehouse that has like 30 foot ceilings, don't be surprised when the item looks huge in your office with 10 foot ceilings. Furthermore...when the salesman tells you it un-assembles into three pieces, you know, for easy moving...do not be fooled. Two of the three pieces are still incredibly heavy and will break your back, make you utter curse words and snip at your beloved. You've been warned!

Cool ephemera tags that I found in this vintage Ball jar... which is perfect for my buttons!
Have ya'll ever seen a Ball jar with this type of lid? Zinc rim and removable glass top.

The final find of the day...this super cool stamp set!

cool bookcase - but I do believe the heavy part!
As to the jar = yes! But just recently and they are very rare in certain locations so grab a few if you see them. After all these years, just caught my first one here.
Dorothy has POUNDS of buttons for you if you want to see a neat collection!

I think that bookcase is gorgeous!!!! You could put it in your living room if it is too big for your office, the vaulted ceilings will help make it look smaller. But who wants to move it again?!? Love the jar and the stamps, too!!!
So proud of you for your continued lung purification plan!!! Ha!
Love you, Talk soon.
