cough cough gag

My baby is sick. Tanner came home from a week at the kennel with Kennel Cough [video link]. We picked him up Wednesday afternoon and by Friday morning we were at the vet, bright & early, after a long night of hacking/gagging. I felt so sorry for him, he was a miserable sight. At first we thought he had aspirated/choked but Dr. Terri immediately diagnosed him and started an antibiotic & cough suppressant. Evidently kennel cough is extremely contagious- similar to the flu in humans. Hopefully Tanner will have a mild case and a quick recovery since he did have the Bordetella immunization. There are many variations of this disease and Tanner's vaccine clearly did not cover all the possible strains. The point of this story - Greenies Pill Pockets. These things are fabulous! They are a chewy, sticky, beefy treat with a hole in the center to stuff a pill into, so clever! Tanner usually resists all efforts to sneak in a pill but he has gobbled these up without any trouble. Two paws up on this product.
