Bailey was diagnosed with Lymphoma on Thursday. Cells aspirated from an enlarged lymph node were examined by a pathologist and the diagnosis was confirmed today. By our choice, there will be no chemotherapy. Today we started on prednisone {a steroid which will hopefully shrink the tumors & increase his appetite.} According to the statistics we have about 3 months with our little friend. Our goal now is to make the last days the best days...there will be no limit on treats, naps & belly rubs, did I mention treats? Bailey even scored a rib bone from Shady Oak Thursday night, he thought he was king of the castle for sure!
as if that wasn't enough...
My Grandmother is nearing the end of her journey. The nurses do not think it will be long.
My heart is heavy. The sadness I feel is overwhelming. My soul hurts.

OMG Michelle!! I'm crying for you right now. I hurt! Poor Bales...he's been there for you and with you when you needed a strong companion the most. Damn pets!! Sucks when they have to leave us. We get so attached to them. He helped ease the transition from Iowa to Texas!! I hurt for you so bad! Makes me fear for the day my Macy Rae will end her good, long run. Poor Grandma. God bless her too! I love you and I'm hear for you. I tried to reach you Thursday and sorry I missed your email last noc. Call if you need me. I'm here. Give Bales a hug for me. I'm so sorry. Love you! Carri
you could not have picked a more beautiful photo of your grandmother. (and of bales too;) i love you and am here for you. syl
Sweetheart....Grandma's time is near and she will have Bales to care for her when she needs him. God always has a plan, even if we don't know what it is at the moment....HE always takes care of us - when one door closes, another opens...so enjoy what time you have, remember the good stuff, know that you are loved and there are those of us around you to help...let us. HE will take care of them...they will take care of each other, we will take care of you.
Hugs and loves
We need to talk.
Dana
So sorry to hear this, Michelle. I'm hoping that it all goes as fine as can be expected. It's so difficult to let go... I'll be praying for you, so the good Lord carries you through these times.
Shel,
I am sooo very sorry to hear this news. I know how hard it is to have a beloved dog have cancer. I am here for you, know that I am thinking of you. What a hard time for you. Love the picture of your grandmother.
